Albany - On Tuesday, APD officers filled up boxes with goodies to send to six officers who are currently in Ft. Stewart awaiting their deployment overseas.

Marlene Ramsey says, "It's just a way of their department coming together to let them know we love them and that we support them. We want them to know that we appreciate their efforts not only in our community and the way they protect us everyday, but the community abroad. We're just happy to do this."

The department will send other care packages to the deployed officers after they leave for Iraq. If you would like to contribute, call APD at 431-2100.
