Albany says good-bye to City Clerk

Albany - The city clerk is retiring after more than 22 years of service to the City. Commissioners gave city clerk Sue Hammond a clock and a big good-bye Tuesday morning.

Hammond started working for the City in 1980 and became city clerk in 1996. "I've made some good friends with the City. I'm going to miss the city employees and my other friends here in Albany. I'm also going to miss my step-grandchildren, so I'll be back real often."

Hammond is moving to Dothan to be with her family.

City commissioners promoted assistant city clerk Sonya Tolbert to city clerk and hired Elizabeth "Sissy" Kelly as the new assistant city clerk.
