Lowndes County - Investigators say a domestic dispute led to the the death of a well-known Lowndes County veterinarian and his ex-wife.

Seventy-six year old Amos Barfield and his ex-wife, 65-year-old Marilyn Barfield, were found dead in a home off South Patterson Street Monday afternoon.

Investigators think Ms. Barfield shot her ex-husband, then turned the gun on herself.

"There was no previous history of violence but apparently there were differences in the marriage and she took it into her own hands," said Sheriff Ashley Paulk.

The Barfield's divorce was just final last month.
