Valdosta - A South Georgia police department honors its fallen heroes.

The Valdosta Police Department dedicated a monument Friday in memory off all their officers killed in the line of duty.

Families of the fallen officers say there's no better way to honor their loved one's service. "I know Lee was sitting on a big could just smiling and clapping his hands, he thought it was great, I know he did," said Gena Crews.

The monument was paid for with a grant from the Federal Office of Justice Programs. It's on display outside the Valdosta Police Department.
