Albany-- The Albany Police Department is still looking for the driver of a car that struck a first grader Monday morning.

Around 8:00 Monday morning, the boy ran across School Street near Turner Elementary School, and was hit by a white Ford Taurus. Witnesses said the driver, a dark skinned black woman, stopped the car, got out, looked at the child, got back in her car and drove away.

The boy was taken to Phoebe where he was treated for minor scratches and bruises and was released.

If you have any information about the hit-and-run driver, call Albany police.
