January 26, 2005

A former South Georgia district attorney who pleaded guilty to lying to F.B.I. agents can no longer practice law in Georgia.

The state supreme court accepted Bob Ellis's voluntary surrender of license this week. Ellis had a sexual relationship with a drug defendant last year lied to F.B.I. agents about it.

He was sentenced to 18 months in a New Jersey Prison.
