Albany- Beating out the competition to take home a gold medal is tough at any level of sports.
Tuesday night, the Harvest Moon hosted some south Georgians who brought home gold medals from the Special Olympics. For the members of Dougherty County's basketball team, it was an unforgettable experience.
"It was my dream," said 17-year-old Mantonia Johnson. "This is my first time doing something like this."
"We just went out there, we did our best and we won the gold," said 19-year-old Donald Pratt. Twenty athletes from Dougherty County received gold medals at state competition in Atlanta.
