Albany- An Albany commissioner, indicted for extortion, heads back to federal court Wednesday. Henry Mathis is accused of extorting money from an Albany night club associate and lying to GBI agents about it. His arraignment is set for 3:00PM Wednesday in federal court. Mathis is expected to plead not guilty to both charges. Mathis's trial could start in April. A panel appointed by the Governor will decide if Mathis will continue to serve as a city commissioner while awaiting trial.
