 2005 Draneville - Tri-County High School shortstop Shannon Monahan made school history on Monday.

Monahan is the first Lady Eagle softball player to sign a college scholarship.

 Monahan is heading to Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida.

Monahan batted .446 last fall and was part of a Tri-County program that has won 75 games over her high school career.

Monahan also played a catcher in high school and may start her college career behind the plate next year.
