Thomasville-- A police chase in Thomas County is over, with a large quantity of drugs off the street, and a Tallahassee man in jail. Drug agents received word that Adrian Mitchell would be delivering a large amount of marijuana from Tallahassee to Metcalfe, Georgia, so they set up surveillance.

When they tried to stop Mitchell in his Honda Accord, he went head-to-head with a Sheriff's truck.

"The patrol vehicle attempted to pull in front of the fleeing suspect," said Agent Kevin Lee of the Thomasville-Thomas County. Drug Squad. "He then hit the patrol vehicle and struck the fence. He became stuck on the fence and couldn't get away."

When agents searched the Honda, they found about four pounds of marijuana inside.

Mitchell is being charged with possession with intent to distribute, aggravated battery on a peace officer, and several traffic offenses.
