Elementary school targeted in burglary

January 19, 2005

Thomasville- Deputies say Cross Creek Elementary's cafeteria supervisor noticed her office had been broken into when she arrived at work this morning. When other teachers arrived later, they reported three more break-ins.

School Resource Officer Steve Jones says the sheriff's office is taking a proactive approach to prevent future thefts. "We're going to try to do things differently. Especially since we've had this occur. We'll be doing things a little differently as far as watching the schools."

A small amount of money was stolen from the school, along with several small items. Deputies say one of the most baffling points is that no computers or other electronics were taken.
