Commissioners revisit impact fees for Lee

January 18, 2005

Leesburg- A new Lee County Commission will be taking another look at impact fees.

Some new members on the commission want to revisit the issue the past commission looked at. Impact fees are taxes that would be paid by anyone building new construction in the county to help pay for public services in the county.

"I think this is fair and will give you a jump on having more money to do these things because you've got to have streets and roads and you got to have utility services," said Commissioner Morris Levertt.

The commission asked to have more information on impact fees by February.
