Cairo- The First Baptist Church of Cairo is marking its 130th birthday later this month. But on Sunday, the congregation will hold a small celebration after the morning service.

The pastor, Doctor Joe Allen, is hoping First Baptist's future is even brighter then its past. "We're really stressing that not only do we have a great history, but we're also stressing that we're looking to the future. We truly believe that the greatest days of our church are yet future."

First Baptist began when 12 members of the Longbranch Baptist Church took it upon themselves to start a new congregation. They wanted to be closer to the railroad tracks.
