Cairo- Cairo High School has raised two-thousand dollars to donate to CARE.

It all began when a brother and sister on the school's debate team started collecting money at tournaments. After amassing 100 dollars, their teacher challenged the school's other clubs, staff, and faculty to match them dollar-for-dollar, a goal they exceeded.

Sharada Jambulapati says, "It feels great actually that people care for people in other countries." Her brother, Vikram, adds "It's just really nice to know people have that compassion still. And they want to give as much as they can."

The idea for the fundraiser grew out of the debate team's topic this year. It was on the United Nations' peacekeeping and aid operations.
