Cairo- He died earlier today. Green suffered from a brain tumor. He served as the Grady County Sheriff from 19-96 to two-thousand-four. Current Sheriff Harry Young says the county has lost a great man. "It's really a terrible loss. It's a man that loved his county, the people of Grady County. His family is very well respected in Grady County."

Green's funeral will be held Saturday at three-P-M at Gordon Heights Baptist Church. He was 81-years-old.
