Albany -- A man is now charged with killing a woman found dead in her home Monday.
Thirty-one-year old Oscar Ingram was picked up in Eufaula, Alabama Wednesday morning and charged with killing Shernita Sloan, the girlfriend of his uncle.
Eufaula Police arrested Ingram when he went to visit his two children at the elementary school they attend.
Neighbors saw Ingram running from Sloan's house on Mercer Avenue Monday afternoon, carrying a television set. Sloan's daughter found her mother dead on the living room floor. She had been stabbed. The house had been ransacked.
Lt. Tracey Barnes said "Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Ms. Sloan died from a stab wound to the neck."
Ingram will be brought back to Albany and charged with murder and theft by taking.
