Tifton- Tift County School Board members voted five to one to re-elect Richard Golden as board president.

In April Golden was charged with aggravated assault and felony criminal damage to property. Police say he fired a shotgun at the car of a man he caught fishing at his private pond.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years of probation. Shortly after his arrest, Golden resigned his position as president, but continued to serve as a member of the board.
