Albany- The band for the South Georgia arena football team will be called the Marching Wildcats. Members will have uniforms, perform during all home games, and help promote the South Georgia Wildcats.

Tuesday night, hopefuls auditioned for the band's woodwind section.

"The marching field is a little smaller than a regular football field, but we've made adjustments for that, and it will just be a very unique opportunity for the students to participate in the band," says Band General Manager Christopher Pike.

Auditions will continue. They're open to all musicians high school age and older. High school students must have a 2.5 grade point average.

The band will hold auditions for the brass section on Thursday, January 13th from at Westover High School. Percussion section auditions will be January 18th at Dougherty High School.

Anyone who wants to be a drum major or musicians who missed any of the section tryouts should audition on January 20th at Albany High School. All auditions are held from 6 PM to 10 PM.
