Macon - Former Westover High standout Montavious Waters has transferred to Mercer University in Macon.
Waters signed with the University of South Florida last spring but left the team after appearing in only one game in the fall.
Under NCAA rules, Montavious Waters has to sit out one year before he can play for Mercer.
But since he has enrolled for classes this semester, he will be eligible to play at the end of the fall semester.
Mercer coach Mark Slonaker believes Montavious Waters will be a good fit for his Bears program.
Mercer, which is 8-4 and 4-2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference, is ninth in the nation in scoring and coach Slonaker believes Waters' talent will keep Mercer among the top scoring teams in division one college basketball.
