Camilla- Thrity-two year old Sammy Brown pleaded guilty to rape and burglary charges in Mitchell County Monday.

DNA evidence from an unrelated arrest linked Brown to the 2002 assault of a 16 year old Camilla girl.  Brown still faces charges for raping an 85 year old Waycross woman with alzhiemers.

"Hopefully now we can bring a little bit of justice to the victim in this case who has been waiting for two long years since this happened to find out who did this. DNA certainly doesn't lie, and we were ready to go to trial today. We weren't negotiating any sentence with him. You don't negoiate with terrorists, you don't negoiate with serial rapists, and that's how we felt about this case," says district attorney Joseph Mulholland.

Brown is also awaiting trial for murder in Albany. He's charged with killing Sonyanna Thomas during a robbery at her home and dumping her body in a Worth County creek in October 2003.
