Thomasville - Thomasville High coach Tommy Welch is leaving the Rose City.

Welch is resigning after five seasons to take the head coaching job at Lafayette High in Northwest Georgia.

In five seasons with the Bulldogs, Tommy Welch posted a 37-18 record and led Thomasville to three straight region titles.

A search for his successor is now underway at Thomasville High.
