January 3, 2004

Albany - A man who may be connected with a deadly burglary is arrested.

Twenty-five-year-old Eric Beasley of Albany was arrested on Thursday and charged with burglary and probation violation.

Beasley is accused of helping 24-year-old Courtney Jackson and Donald Wilson rob Raymond Smith in 1999. Smith was shot twice in the head and killed, but Jackson is the only one charged with murder.

All three were indicted in January of 2004 for stealing a safe with $140,000 inside out of Mary Polite's home.

Jackson may also be connected with last week's Pearly's burglary, the safe was found at his business, One Way Records, in Albany.
