Albany - Lemuel Edwards will split is time between Water, Gas, and Light, where he's the General Manager, and the City of Albany. He already plans to review the departments to look for unnecessary jobs and costs.

Edwards replaces City Manager Janice Allen Jackson who's last day was Thursday. Monday, he talked with some department heads and reviewed the city's budget. He says the City can cut cost and he plans to help them do just that.

"First of all, I'm going to look at personnel, the number of employees and their functions, in all departments."

Edwards will serve as interim city manager until a new city manager is hired. Edwards worked with the city for about a decade in human resources before moving over to Water, Gas, and Light.
