Valdosta - A South Georgia man is charged with robbing and shooting at three people in a vehicle Sunday night.

Police say 31-year-old Christopher Jenkins of Valdosta tried to rob the people while they were parked on Lake Park Road. They gave Jenkins a pack of cigarettes and a lighter, then sped off.

Jenkins opened fire on their car. "Mr. Jenkins fired at least six rounds into the vehicle which was a Ford Taurus and miraculously for everyone, no one was hurt during that incident," said Captain Brian Childress.

Jenkins is in the Lowndes County Jail charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
