Albany - The Georgia Division of Public Health says adults age 50 to 65, out of home caregivers, and household contacts of people in high risk will be recommended to receive a flu shot. The government previously recommended healthy adults delay or skip a flu shot this season to save vaccine for the elderly, infants or those with chronic conditions.

Katie Frame says, "I got my flu shot in November. People should get it, because the flu is debilitating, especially for people with respiratory problems." Health officials were forced to place curbs on who could get a flu shot after nearly half the country's supply was cut off due to contamination. But not as many people turned out in the fall to get a flu shot as were expected, causing officials to fear thousands of doses would go to waste.
