Dogs and cats will spend Christmas away

December 23, 2004

Albany - Some four-legged friends will spend their Christmas away from their families.

Like most animal clinics, Bush Animal Clinic in Albany is booked solid. They have 70 cats and dogs spending the holiday weekend in their kennels.

Workers will go in at five Christmas morning to feed and walk the animals and come back later to do it again.

Veterinarian Dr. Steve Whatley says, "Our help is dedicated. They come in early in the morning and take care of everybody and get home in time for families."

Animal clinics expect to be busier this New Years because the holiday falls on a Friday and Saturday, meaning more people will be heading out of town.
