Albany- Jessica Roe is getting pretty quick at ringing up bottle after bottle of body wash. She hasn't been doing this long.

"First Christmas season," Roe said, as she rang people up at Bath and Body Works in the Albany Mall.

Working the holiday retail season is breaking her in.

"Sometimes it's a little more challenging, but I'm up for it and I really like it a lot."

It helps that she likes what she's selling.

"I love a lot of the products in here, so it makes it so much easier to sell them to the customers."

Customers who are often undecided about what they want to buy.

"Whether it's a gift card or a gift basket or just an assortment of different things."

But whatever they walk away with, it's often the one behind the counter who makes the difference.

"Not just as a person, but as a cashier or as a sales associate on the floor.

"Just helps them have a positive image or maybe a better day."

A better day in the busiest shopping season of the year. And every sale she makes, gives her a better chance at being a holiday helper next year.

"If they'll have me back I will."
