Lake Blackshear- Emergency crews are planning a daring rescue on an island in a south Georgia lake.

Their target, a confused cow. This cow is stuck on an island in the middle of Lake Blackshear. Hamp Butler is working in the area and says the cow's been on the island for a few weeks and likely swam there.

"He had to get out there somehow," Butler said. "I mean, because the water's been down for probably six weeks or so. So I'm sure he had to swim out there, he didn't have no choice."

The cow doesn't seem to want to swim back. Someone who lives nearby did take some food over to the island Wednesday.

Sheriff's deputies plan to get the cow off the island Thursday. We plan to show you the rescue Thursday night.
