New businesses and more jobs may come to southwest Georgia thanks to the Fall Feather Hunt. At least 2 of the 16 prospective corporate guests, that visited during the hunt last week, expressed interest in developing in southwest Georgia.

The annual event, sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, is designed to bring new and expanding business to the state. "If we get an industry or business within thirty or so miles from Albany, we have the opportunity for our residents to work there. And, anyone they bring in will come to Albany to shop and to use it as their center," said Mark Davis, EDC.

Economic Development Commission Chairman Mark Davis says it's too early to say which companies showed interest in this area.

Last year, six companies that took part in the Fall Feather Hunt announced plans to open operations in Georgia.
