Tift County - A Tift County school board member will serve three years probation for blasting a man's car with a shotgun. Richard Golden pleaded guilty to pointing a gun at another and criminal damage to property.

In April, Golden shot Derrick Pettiford's car full of holes after he found Pettiford fishing on his land. Golden was sentenced to 3 years probation, 100 hours of community service, and he must pay Pettiford more than $2,000 for the damage to his car.

Golden resigned as school board president after his arrest but remains on the board.
