Dawson- Some south Georgia voters will have to go back to the polls to re-vote in a city council race.

Dawson Ward Once Council member Gail Rakel lost the November election to Willie Lou Williams 77 to 76.

City attorney Tommy Coleman says an election worker saw at least one person vote in the wrong ward. So everyone agreed to have the election again.

"Same candidates," Coleman said. "There won't be any new qualifying. This is not a new election. It's a re-run of an existing election."

The election will be held on the third Tuesday in March. Council woman Rakel will continue to serve until then.
