Albany-- City commissioners officially appoint an interim city manager. Lemuel Edwards, the general manager of Water, Gas, and Light, will serve as interim city manager after Janice Allen Jackson leaves December 31st.
Commissioners agreed Edwards will split his time between the city and WG&L until a full-time city manager is hired.
Janice Allen Jackson planned to interview applicants for the assistant city manager position the last week of November. But the firm narrowing down the search didn't give her the applications in time.
She hopes to give the commissioners the top candidates' names before she leaves December 31st.
