Winter Haven, FL - A South Georgia amusement park owner is bringing a popular Florida tourist attraction back to life.

Cypress Gardens will reopen in Winter Haven, Florida Thursday morning. The park closed last year because of competition with other south Florida amusement parks.

Wild Adventures owner Kent Buescher bought Cypress Gardens for seven million dollars and added dozens of new attractions. The new park includes four roller coasters, 34 other rides, new restaurants, along with the famous gardens and water skiers. There's also a new butterfly garden featuring 20 different species.

Buescher opened Wild Adventures in Valdosta in 1997.
