Macon, GA - Convicted Alapaha Circuit District Attorney Bob Ellis won't surrender for prison until January.

Ellis, convicted of lying to FBI agents, was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

He was ordered to report to prison last month, but now that's been postponed until next month.

U. S. Marshals say it takes 6 to 8 weeks for the Bureau of Prisons to find a suitable location.

Once notified Bob Ellis will report directly to prison.

Ellis was accused of having sex with a female drug defendant he was prosecuting, then instructing her to lie to investigators about it.
