Tift County- Thirty-five year old James Edward Harris was found dead early Wednesday morning near his home at Pine Manor Mobile Home Park.

Preliminary autopsy results determined that Harris died from a stab wound to the upper chest, but the sheriff's office is not yet calling it a murder.

"There were several witnesses. They have all been brought in and have been questioned and have been very helpful and gave statements to the investigators, but at this point no one has been arrested and no one has been charged in his death," says David Haire public information officer for the Tift County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's officials do say they have interviewed a person of interest but that individual has not been charged. Investigators have not released any information about whether they weapon used in the stabbing has been recovered.
