Albany - One woman was killed and another man seriously injured when a SUV ran a red light and slammed into their pick-up truck. The wreck happened around 3:30PM Sunday at the intersection of South Mock Road and Rosebriar.
Police say 35 year-old Emmanuel Frazier, of Macon, ran the red light in his Dodge Durango and slammed into a Nissan Frontier pick-up truck. The truck's driver, 45 year-old Eugene Grant, Junior of Albany crawled from the wreck seriously hurt. His passenger, 45 year-old Rosalyn Powell, died instantly.
"I don't really know what happened because I got here right after the scene happened," said witness Paul Murray. "But when I got here, they had twelve to fourteen EMT's and firefighters with the jaws of life trying to get the remaining people out of the Nissan."
Grant remains at Phoebe Putney with a collapsed lung.
Two people, in the Durango, were treated for minor injuries. Frazier was not hurt. Police say charges against him are pending, and he could be charged with vehicular homicide in the second degree.
