Thomas County - The fire rating in Thomas County has decreased. Fire Chief Chris Jones says that's due to better communication, water supply and an increase in emergency personal.

Jones says, "It was a goal that Thomas County had promised its citizens that their rating would be lower and so therefor that has been done and our goal is to continue to work and improve it even better." The fire rating is now a 6/9, down from a 9/10. The goal is to get the rating even lower.
