Alapaha - A South Georgia town will be featured on the National Geographic Channel next spring.

Two weeks ago, a group of forensic scientists and a National Geographic television crew traveled to Alapaha to do a piece on the legend of Hogzilla. The 1,000-pound wild hog was reportedly killed at River Oaks Plantation last June.

Plantation owner Ken Holyoak says the scientists dug up the animal's remains and took it to a forensic science lab.

A documentary on the wild hog will air on the National Geographic Channel sometime in the spring.
