Albany- Ebenezer Christian Center in South Albany held a Thanksgiving meal and clothing give-away Saturday.

Church members prepared 1,000 meals for the needy, and they delivered plates to the elderly and those without transportation.

"Many times it's easy to take donations and things and go outside of the U.S., but then many times right in our community there are many needs. We like to make sure that we minister to those needs," says Pastor Charles Williams.

In downtown Albany, Words of Restoration International Ministries held a brief service before they gave away 200 turkeys and 50 hams. This is the fifth year the church has held the giveaway.

On Monday, the Hines Memorial CME church ,on North Madison Street in Albany, will hold it's annual Caring and Sharing pre-Thanksgiving dinner. They will have a clothing give-away at 10 AM followed by dinner at noon.
