Thomasville - In September, the arthritis drug Vioxx, was taken off the market because of the danger of heart attacks and strokes. Now there is worry other medications will cause similar side effects. Pharmacist Al Stone says there is no current evidence to back that claim. He says, "They haven't done the tests like they did on Vioxx, so at this point there is no information that the Bextra's and the celebrex aren't safe to take."
The five drugs in question are Meridia, Crestor, Accutane, Bextra, and Serevent. If you have had any side effects from these drugs, you should consult your doctor to see if you should continue taking the medications.
