Bellringers booted, Salvation Army turns to you

November 19, 2001

Albany-Target and Harveys no longer allow Salvation Army bell ringers to collect money at their stores.

Maj. James Amburgey says more people need to give to help the organization reach its goal of $250,000 for the Albany area. He explains "Here in town, Target was our largest spot, so were trying extra hard this year to bring in some extra money."

The Salvation Army hopes to provide gifts for more than 1,000 children this year.
