Albany - The South Georgia Wildcats will kickoff the 2005 season on Saturday, April 9th at the Albany Civic Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. against in-state rival the Macon Knights.
The Wildcats remain in the American Conference South Division and will face each of their divisional counterparts, Macon, Florida Firecats, Arkansas Twisters and Birmingham Steeldogs twice during the regular season.
The Wildcats schedule features eleven different opponents and first time meetings with Arkansas, Rio Grande Valley Dorados (Hidalgo, TX), Amarillo Dusters (Amarillo, TX) and Green Bay Blizzard.
The Wildcats opponents combined for a 72-88 record last season and the Wildcats have an all-time mark of 16-7 versus their 2005 opponents.
The Wildcats will play a 16 game schedule with all home games to be played at the Albany James H. Gray Sr. Civic Center with all games being played on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The Wildcats are entering their fourth season in arenafootball2 and the first in Albany, Georgia.
The 2005 AF2 season is set to kickoff the first weekend of April.
