Albany - Six south and middle Georgia District Attorneys endorsed Debra Bernes for the state Court of Appeals. Bernes was in Albany Tuesday to accept the endorsement and to encourage Georgians to vote in the run-off election November 23rd.
Bernes is up against Howard Mead. She says Georgia's Court of Appeals heard 3,400 cases last year, and her experience arguing cases in the court will help her.
"The American Bar Association recommends an appellate court judge hear about 125 matters a year," said Debra Bernes. "So whoever the voters elect needs to be able to hit the ground running. I think my appellate experience and legal experience with allow me to do that."
Early voting for the run-off began Monday and runs through Friday.
