Albany- Albany will soon be the only place in the world where Kudos snack bars will be made.

That means more jobs at the Masterfoods USA plant. The Albany-Dougherty Payroll Development Authority secured an $18 million bond for the company to purchase the technology it needs to made the snack bar.

A large investment in a mid-size plant means the plant is doing well, said Albany-Dougherty Chamber President Tim Martin

"It is very, very important for new investments to be made in an existing plant to retain the current jobs and add the new excitement, new technology, the new product line, the new jobs," Martin said.

Producing Kudos snack bars could add up to 48 full-time jobs by summer and possibly 10 part-time jobs.

Masterfoods currently makes Combos snacks, Snickers Marathon bars and processes peanuts and almonds for M&M Mars.
