Lack luster early voting turn out expected

November 14, 2004

Albany -- Election officials don't expect the huge crowds they saw earlier this month as early voting starts Monday.

During the presidential election, more than 4600 Dougherty County voters cast early ballots. Some voters believe the enthusiasm is still there.

"I think voters will show intensity this election. People got out and voted last time and they thought that their voices were heard and I think they will go out and take advantage of early voting this time,"says voter Jermone Kirkland.

At least 30 states offered early voting this year and many of those states had record turnout including Georgia.
