Albany- Eighteen year old Haley Kilpatrick was chosen over nearly 20,000 other teens from across the nation to be the CosmoGirl of the year.

She was recognized for her work on Girl Talk, a mentoring program for middle school girls. In addition to a $10,000 scholarship, Kilpatrick will be featured in the December issue of CosmoGirl magazine which hits stands later this month.

Last year, 17 year old Courtney Calhoun received the same honor for her work with Teen Choice, a youth advocacy program she developed to warn teens about the dangers of unprotected sex.
