MIAMI (AP) _ Chaz Williams scored three rushing touchdowns and Georgia Southern ran for 515 yards to defeat Florida International 53-to-32 this afternoon. Georgia Southern -- which improved to 9-and-2 -- piled up 76 carries and five rushing touchdowns as the Eagles scored more than 50 points for the sixth game this season.
Georgia Southern scored 29 unanswered points to start the second half and overcame a 25-to-17 halftime lead by F-I-U. Jermaine Austin led the Eagles with 148 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. The Eagles put the game out of reach with one-minute, 21 seconds remaining in the game when A-J Bryant returned an interception 73 yards for a touchdown.
