Albany school gets Blue Ribbon Award

Albany-- An Albany School gets national recognition for its high academic achievement. All 666 students at Lincoln Fundamental Elementary school packed the Albany Civic center to celebrate the school's blue ribbon award.

The U-S department of education reconigized the school for high scores on state tests at a school where most students come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

"The key to our success is parent commitment student commitment , staff commitment past and present administration," says principal Sheryl Holmes.

Only 12 schools in Georgia are Blue Ribbon schools.
