Tifton-- Citizens in the city of Tifton also paid homage to the work of American Soldiers on this veterans day.

At a ceremony at Veterans park in Tifton a Blue Star marker was added to the city's War monument memorial.

Organizers also unveiled a marker in memory of retired Veteran's Affairs Worker Mary Hancock who was kidnapped and murdered in Tifton earlier this year.

Hancock's Daughter Jackie Shaddix says for her the marker will be a constant reminder of her mother.

"Its something that we can always come back to. Things and homes come and go but this will always be here," says Shaddix.

31-year old Waylon Holsenbeck was arrested in July for Hancock's murder. He is currently awaiting a trial.
