Former County Extension agent dies

Albany -- Longtime Dougherty County Extension agent Rhen Bishop has died The 61 year old Bishop died Saturday night after battling cancer.

Known for years in Albany as "the man with all the answers", Bishop was the county extension agent for more than 28 years. He retired three years ago.

Anthony Jones worked with Bishop for 20 years. Jones said "Everybody thought if they had a problem in the garden, flowers, they called Rhen Bishop. Everybody wanted to talk to him cause they felt like he knew the answer. And in most cases he did."

Rhen Bishop's was an active part of the Emmaus community.

His funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday morning at Christ United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher.
